New Poem: My first haiku

It has been a while since I last posted. Despite it having been my summer holidays, I appear to have not done much writing. However, it is actually the opposite of that. Rather than writing new stuff, I have resolved myself to get some editing done. So I have, in fact, done a lot of writing related activity. Mostly being me staring at words I previously wrote and wondering how anyone could write anything that bad! Anyhow, I decided that I better release something new, so heading on to my list of poems I intend to write at some point and chose one. I then wrote that poem, but this is not it! Yep, I have another poem coming out soon too. Anyway, back to this one. I have been considering writing a haiku for a while now, and thought I would have a go. Unsure of what topic to choose, I started to think about the syllables in different words. Sometimes it can be quite confusing to work out what is actually a syllable and what is not. I then, in my bad comedic way, thought it would be funny to write a little haiku that did not follow the rules, showing I did not really understand how they work. So that is where ‘My first haiku’ comes in, it has the three lines but does not follow the correct number of syllables. I do have a second haiku poem that follows on from this one and uses the correct number of syllables. You will have to wait for that one for later. For now, you can read ‘My first haiku’ on wattpad in my poetry collection ‘Bad Poetry You probably never want to read,’ or just look at it below. If you head over to wattpad there are even more of my terrible poems you can read too!
