Islands of Hope Update – 31/08/2019

Well, it has been a strange week. Back to work on Thursday for two training days before kids come back to school, and sorting out more house buying stuff. That is, however, not the reason it is another small ‘Islands of Hope’ update this week. I hit a bit of writer’s block and got myself confused about why I was writing this funeral scene, yes it does give useful background information but is it really needed? Then, one night, as I slowly fell to sleep, everything clicked. I did not have time or energy to write it down in the early hours of the morning and sleep took me. Luckily, I remember what I had thought about the next day. This happened too late in the week for me to implement it in the story, but at least I know what happens next. For now you can read a bit more of Chapter 41, it is a bit of a transition from the funeral service to the wake. Hopefully there will be something more exciting next week. For now, head over to wattpad and read Chapter 41 here, or start from the beginning here.

Islands of Hope Update – 24/08/2019

‘Summer means more writing,’ I said almost two months ago. Nope, it doesn’t. This week’s distraction has been applying for a mortgage and hunting for a house. Yep, after renting for so long we have saved up a good deposit and decided to get a property of our own, mainly for our children’s future. That means there have been a lot of viewings, phone calls and emails, and not much writing. So this week I have a short one hundred and fifty odd words for you, basically an update on Marcus’ state of mind as the newest Princips director. So, as usual, you can read Chapter 41 here, or start from the beginning here. See ya next week!

Islands of Hope Update – 17/08/2019

I’m back from holiday and straight into a run of family days and visitors. I have managed to sneak in some writing time though, continuing to move forward with Chapter 41. In this week’s short update we are introduced briefly to Marcas Alkan, Derik’s son. It turns out he has been working with Kendra, but what does this mean for the plans of world domination and living forever? You will just have to wait till next week to find out. You can carry on with Chapter 41 on wattpad by going here, or start from the beginning here.

Oh yeah, remember if you want to read ‘A Close Shave with Destiny’ you can get it for free on Kindle until the end of Sunday 18th August, just use the links below…

‘A Close Shave with Destiny’ FREE for four days

cover-blogIn an attempt to gain more reviews for my comedy fantasy novella, ‘A Close Shave with Destiny,’ I am giving the Kindle version away for FREE for four days. From Thursday 15th August 2019 to Sunday 18th August 2019 you can download the book for free. If you do so and end up reading it, could you please post a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads? I would rather the review be honest, I can handle negative comments, I get enough of them!

Need more convincing to download the novella? Read the blurb…

On his deathbed, a village elder tells of a prophecy that will come true soon. A deep snow will set into the world, followed by blades that will scour the land and rip up all the trees and houses. For Wignut, the main village hero, this is just another silly story. So he’s not very happy when he has to travel with his trusted aid, Barnabus, to the Caves of Nosterak and collect a sticky substance that will glue down the buildings in their village. Unknown to them, they actually live in a moustache. A Close Shave with Destiny is a comedy fantasy adventure akin to Lord of the Rings, but with more snot and facial hair! From the creator of World Cup Dreams and Super Lizard comes a new comedy that pokes fun at many of the usual fantasy tropes.

Islands of Hope Update – 10/08/2019

I’m on holiday this week but have managed to get my hands on a laptop thanks to my Dad. I had written quite a bit on my phone in down time at the end of the day so have nearly four hundred words for this week’s update. I am quite impressed with it really. It is the start of a section I only decided to add recently. The start of Kendra and Ukrit’s funeral, it lends itself to be a bit of a history lesson on Princips, building the world a little more. It was also fun to do a bit of research as well. So, you can now read the start of Chapter 41 and learn about some of the lies Princips have weaved into history. You can read the update on wattpad by going here, or start from the beginning here.

Early Islands of Hope Update 02/08/2019

As you can probably guess by the fact this update is a day early, I am away this weekend. In fact, I am away for next weekend as well, not sure how I will update ‘Islands of Hope’ but I’m sure I’ll figure something out. This week has been a productive one though, and with some good focus and a bit more free time I have managed to complete Chapter 40. The rogue fighter has attacked the rebellion craft, but what with the other Princips fighters do, given that their order was to just observe Luka and his crew? To find out you’ll have to read Chapter 40 on wattpad by going here, or alternatively you can start from the beginning here.
